Frequently Asked Questions

Where does your jewelry come from?

Our jewelry is sourced from artists whose work we respect and are honored to showcase in our store. All of the artists whose pieces we sell have the same attention to detail and use the same high-quality materials that we use for our own custom pieces. Just ask us about any piece in our store and we’ll be happy to tell you all about the artist including where they live, what their design influences are and how we came to carry their jewelry.

Why gold?

We truly believe that high karat gold is one of the most beautiful and durable materials on earth. We aim to create and sell pieces that will become heirlooms, so we only use the best metal and stones to ensure these pieces live a long life.

Most of our pieces begin with high-karat gold, a material that’s been used for centuries because of its strength, brightness and malleability. Lower karat gold can become brittle over time and lose its glow while higher karat gold will require less maintenance and is virtually indestructible.

Do you use recycled materials?

All of the metals we use are recycled and use the purest alloys to keep the wearer protected from toxic metals.

Do you offer in-house financing?

We currently do not offer in-house financing, but we plan to offer this option to our customers soon. We do accept payments in installments for custom jobs.

How do you price custom jewelry requests?

Our prices are a combination of materials and labor which includes the design, sourcing and assembly of the piece. Our material prices are based off of the daily market values for the materials. Both diamonds and gold prices are affected by world economics so the prices fluctuate daily, sometimes drastically. Because of the labor involved with a custom piece, we do require that pieces have a minimum budget, which we can discuss with you when you come in.

What are traceable stones? (take this out?)

Traceable gemstones means that we can trace every stone in our jewelry back to its original source to ensure we are not selling any conflict diamonds or stones. These are stones that are used to fund wars across the world by exploiting workers in developing nations. Every material we use and sell has been ethically sourced.

How do you source your stones?

Our gemstones are sourced according to the Kimberley Process which is underpinned by the United Nations and brings over 80 countries together to reduce the flow of conflict diamonds which are used to finance war around the world. We also often up-cycle older diamonds through a re-polishing process that brings them back to life in modern design.

We care deeply about the sources of all of our materials as well as the artists who create many of the collections we carry. When you buy jewelry from Nine Roses you know you’re wearing an ethical, hand-crafted, and incredibly well made piece.

Do I need an appointment?

Nope! Whether you just want to browse or want to talk to us about a custom piece, you are welcome to come in anytime during our regular hours and we’ll be happy to sit down with you and chat.

How do I get my jewelry into Nine Roses?

We take the curation of the jewelry in our store very seriously. We hand pick the artists we work with by considering their entire line and artistic vision and how that fits into the Nine Roses brand. That being said, we are always open to seeing designs from jewelers who believe their pieces have a place in our store. If you’d like us to take a look at your jewelry, please fill out our submissions form.
